Wheat Seeder Usage and Troubleshooting
Wheat seeders are characterized by uniform sowing depth, stable row spacing, good soil covering, seed saving, and high work efficiency.
The following points should be followed when using a seeder correctly:
(1) After the seeder is attached to the tractor, it must not be tilted. The frame should be horizontal during operation.
(2) Before formal sowing, test sow 10-20 meters at the edge of the field to observe the seeder's operation. Only proceed with formal sowing after it meets agronomic requirements.
(3) Sow horizontally at the edge of the field first to avoid compacting the soil and causing shallow sowing.
(4) During sowing, frequently observe the operation of the seed metering device, furrow opener, covering device, and transmission mechanism. Address any blockages, soil sticking, straw entanglement, or inadequate seed covering promptly.
(5) When the seeder is working, reverse or sharp turns are strictly prohibited. Lifting or lowering the seeder should be done slowly to avoid damaging the machine parts. (6) During operation, the seed box must contain at least 1/5 of its volume of seeds; when transporting or transferring the seed to another plot, the seed box must not contain seeds, and no other heavy objects should be placed on top of it.
(7) Adjustments, repairs, lubrication, or cleaning of tangled grass must be performed after the plant has stopped.
Troubleshooting should be done promptly.
(1) The seed metering device is not dispensing seeds. The main reason is that the transmission gears are not meshing, or the square hole of the seed metering gear on the seed metering shaft is worn. Adjust, repair, or replace the gear.
(2) Some seed metering devices are not working. The reason is that the seed rack or seed metering device opening in some seed metering boxes is blocked by debris. Clean seeds should be used instead; the connecting pin between the seed metering shaft and some seed metering groove wheels is broken. The pin should be replaced; the insert plate of some seed metering boxes is not pulled open. The insert plate should be pulled open.
(3) The seed metering device dispenses seeds, but some seed furrows are empty. The cause is blockage in the furrow opener or seed delivery pipe (most commonly occurring on furrow openers near the ground wheel). The blockage should be cleared, and appropriate measures should be taken to prevent debris from falling into the furrow opener.
(4) Continuous seed dispensing, out of control. The cause is that the clutch support pin has fallen off or the separation gap is too small. The pin should be reinstalled and locked, or the separation gap should be adjusted.
(5) Intermittent seed dispensing, uneven sowing. The cause is that the meshing clearance of the transmission gears is too large, causing gear slippage. Adjustment should be made; the clutch spring force is too weak, causing gear slippage. The spring should be adjusted or replaced.
