1. Adjusting the Current Cutter: First, adjust the gap between the contacts to 0.7-0.9 mm. Disconnect the battery and armature terminal wires from the regulator. Then, short-circuit the battery live wire to the armature terminal, using the battery power to attract the moving arm of the current cutter. While short-circuiting, loosen the current cutter spring so that the magnetized iron core pulls the moving arm down. Then, while short-circuiting, tighten the spring until it just can no longer pull down the arm. This indicates that the current cutter spring is suitable for a 12V voltage. Then, adjust the spring appropriately based on experience to slightly increase the closing voltage. After adjusting the closing voltage, reconnect the disconnected battery and armature wires, and start the engine for testing. At idle, the ammeter pointer will slightly deflect in the discharge direction. Then, increase the engine speed so that the current pointer points in the charging direction. When the engine speed is slowly reduced to a certain value, the ammeter pointer points in the discharge direction and quickly returns to zero. The maximum value when the ammeter pointer swings in the opposite direction is the reverse current value, which should meet the requirements.

2. Adjusting the Current Limiter: 1. Allow the battery to partially discharge (if fully charged, start the generator 2-3 times with an electric starter). Insert a wooden block between the moving arm and core of the voltage regulator to close the regulator contacts, disabling its regulating function. Then, increase the engine speed to medium. At this point, the ammeter reading should be 3/4 of the specified value. If you continue to increase the speed, and the ammeter reading no longer increases, and there are slight sparks between the current limiter contacts, this is considered normal.

2. Adjusting the voltage regulator. Insert a wooden piece between the moving arm and core of the current limiter to close the current limiter contacts. Run the generator at medium speed, changing the spring force to adjust the generator's terminal voltage. If the battery is significantly depleted, the ammeter reading will be around 12A (depleted charging value). If the battery is fully charged, the ammeter reading will be around 8A, and the generator's terminal voltage will be close to the standard value.
