The tractor's instrument and monitoring system is referred to as the tractor instrument panel.
Its function is to detect malfunctions or non-functionalities during various tractor operations, aiding the driver's operation and ensuring machine safety.
Therefore, corresponding sensors, alarm switches, and signal transmitters are installed in the engine, transmission system, hydraulic system, and travel system. These send signals to the corresponding instruments or indicator lights.
Depending on the tractor's usage requirements, power, and structural performance, the instruments configured on the tractor vary. Agricultural tractors are generally equipped with oil pressure gauges, water temperature gauges, fuel gauges, ammeters (or voltmeters), and corresponding sensors. Large and medium-sized tractors and export tractors are generally equipped with tachometers and hour meters. In my country, tractors are frequently used for agricultural transportation operations, and for traffic safety, traffic regulations require the installation of brake pressure gauges.
As tractor technology develops towards higher efficiency, higher power, more multifunctionality, and modernization, new tractors are equipped with more instruments and monitoring systems. For example, in addition to the engine, transmission systems also include low-speed warning systems, and high-power luxury tractors are equipped with digital instruments and computer-controlled monitoring systems.
To free the driver from frequent instrument observation, installing too many indicator instruments is inappropriate. Some of these are replaced by signal indicator lights, thus the number of indicator lights is increasing.
Currently, most tractors are equipped with instruments such as tachometers, hourly rate gauges, water temperature gauges, and fuel level gauges. Oil pressure gauges are replaced by oil pressure warning indicator lights, and ammeters are replaced by charging indicator lights. In addition, there should be turn signals, air filter clogging warning lights, and brake malfunction warning lights.
The trend in tractor instrument development is towards a combined instrument structure. Combined instruments offer advantages such as powerful functionality, aesthetic appeal, rational structure, suitability for various tractor series applications, and ease of installation and maintenance of the main unit.
