Proper Use Of Tracked Tractor Tracks

The running gear of a tracked tractor experiences severe wear due to years of operation in mud. Under normal circumstances, a new track pad set only lasts 2000-3000 hours. With proper use and maintenance, the track's lifespan can reach 2-3 years. To extend the track's lifespan and reduce running gear malfunctions, the following requirements should be followed for proper use and maintenance:

1. Mud and sand often accumulate between the track pads and the track pins, causing severe wear. After a period of use, the track pins wear down to a "crankshaft shape," and the track holes also wear down accordingly. This increases the track pitch, preventing proper engagement between the track and the drive wheel, further accelerating wear on both. Simultaneously, the reduced friction surface between the pin and the pin hole after the pin has worn down to a "crankshaft shape" gradually wears through the track pad's pin hole, rendering the track pad unusable. 1. To extend the service life of the track track plates and pins, each track track pin should be rotated 60° with pipe wrenches after approximately 13,000 hectares of operation. This ensures even wear on the pins and, consequently, proper wear of the track track plate holes.

2. The normal track sag is 30-50mm. It should not be adjusted too tightly or too loosely, and the sag of both tracks should be the same. If the sag exceeds 50mm and cannot be adjusted further, a track track plate should be removed and the sag readjusted. When operating on flat, hard ground, the track sag should be minimized, ideally close to 30mm.

3. When using a new locomotive or installing new tracks, during the first few maintenance shifts, use pipe wrenches to clamp the end of the track track pin and rotate it slightly to prevent premature "crankshaft" deformation caused by prolonged inactivity.

4. Extra caution must be exercised when operating the locomotive if the track sag is excessive or the drive wheels are worn down. 5. Avoid high-speed turns or sharp bends. Do not overload or make sudden turns on uneven or sloping terrain to prevent track derailment.

6. If severe uneven wear is found on the drive wheels or track meshing parts, the entire track can be removed and reused on one side, or the drive wheels can be swapped to extend its service life.

7. When clearing and tilling land, try to avoid one track entering the furrow. Avoid uneven traction during field operations to reduce unilateral wear of the running gear. Use interleaving tillage as much as possible to ensure even wear of the running gear and steering system components.
